Die vorhandene K\u00e4ltemaschine verwendete ein K\u00e4ltemittel, das gem\u00e4\u00df der Gesetzgebung der Provinz aus dem Verkehr gezogen werden sollte. Die veraltete K\u00e4ltemaschine war nicht energieeffizient und verursachte steigende Wartungs- und Reparaturkosten, um sie funktionsf\u00e4hig zu halten. Au\u00dferdem gab es Kapazit\u00e4tsgrenzen, die bei einer zuk\u00fcnftigen Erweiterung des Krankenhauses ein Problem darstellen w\u00fcrden. Das Arnprior Hospital beauftragte McKee Engineering mit der Pr\u00fcfung von Optionen f\u00fcr einen Ersatz.

<\/p>

McKee Engineering legte dem Arnprior Hospital einen Bericht vor, der zwei Optionen f\u00fcr den Ersatz der vorhandenen K\u00e4ltemaschine enthielt. Die erste Option schlug zwei neue wassergek\u00fchlte Zentrifugalk\u00fchlmaschinen vor. Obwohl diese Option die niedrigsten Anfangskosten aufwies, waren einige Bauarbeiten erforderlich, um die K\u00e4ltemaschinen in den bestehenden Maschinenraum zu bringen. Der Hersteller rechnete au\u00dferdem die Kosten f\u00fcr die Demontage der K\u00e4ltemaschinen im Werk und den Wiederzusammenbau vor Ort hinzu. Die zweite Option beinhaltete die Installation von drei neuen wassergek\u00fchlten SMARDT “modularen K\u00e4ltemaschinen”. Obwohl die anf\u00e4nglichen Kosten f\u00fcr die Ger\u00e4te bei dieser Option h\u00f6her sind, sind f\u00fcr die Installation der neuen K\u00e4ltemaschinen im Maschinenraum keine Bauarbeiten erforderlich.  <\/p>\n

Es fallen auch keine Montagekosten an, da die modularen SMARDT K\u00e4ltemaschinen in Teilen vom Hersteller verschickt und vor Ort zusammengebaut werden k\u00f6nnen. Da die Option drei 80-Tonnen-K\u00e4ltemaschinen umfasst, ist das Problem der Redundanz gel\u00f6st. Au\u00dferdem kann eine der 80-Tonnen-K\u00fchlmaschinen an das Notstromaggregat des Krankenhauses angeschlossen werden. Diese Option ist energieeffizienter und hat geringere “Lebenszyklus”- und “Return on Investment”-Kosten \u00fcber die Lebensdauer der K\u00e4ltemaschine. Da SMARDT K\u00e4ltemaschinen kein \u00d6l verwenden, sind die Wartungskosten um 60% niedriger als bei K\u00e4ltemaschinen mit Schrauben- oder Zentrifugentechnologie.  <\/p>\n

McKee Engineering empfahl dem Arnprior Hospital, sich f\u00fcr die SMARDT-K\u00e4ltemaschinen zu entscheiden. Da die SMARDT-Kaltwassers\u00e4tze modular aufgebaut sind, waren die Gesamtkapitalkosten niedriger, da die baulichen Anforderungen w\u00e4hrend der Installation stark reduziert wurden. Die Lebenszyklusanalyse sprach f\u00fcr die SMARDT K\u00e4ltemaschinen, da die Wartungs- und Reparaturkosten w\u00e4hrend der Lebensdauer der K\u00e4ltemaschinen um 40% niedriger sind.
