The Greater Southwest Region is working hard to support GSA priorities and goals to promote sustainability, increase energy efficiency, and reduce costs. We recently established an “Energy and Sustainability Branch” in the region , which is helping us to better manage federal facilities and implement many strategies to save taxpayer dollars and conserve energy and water.

AHR EXPO SPURS SALES GROWTH OF HIGH-EFFICIENCY SMARDT CHILLERS
Smardt Chiller Group Inc, reportedly the world’s number 5 chiller manufacturer after Trane, Carrier, York and McQuay, is moving up in market share after a highly successful AHR EXPO tradeshow at Chicago at the end of January.
At the show, Smardt showed its new oil-free centrifugal air-cooled chiller range, its new evaporatively-cooled chiller range and its new Kiltech CPECS chilled water plant optimization system. Visitors could dial into the company’s award-winning plant installation at the Sub-Zero manufacturing plant in Arizona, and confirm that the whole plant (1650 tons of Smardt water cooled chillers plus VFD-driven pumps and fans) was operating at the surprisingly low energy consumption of .52 kW/TR.
Smardt Chiller Group Expands into Europe OPK high-efficiency innovations move into global markets

OPK was established in Neckartailfingen in 1985 and has earned a global reputation in HVACR technology development. OPK equipment has been installed across the world, from Asia to Africa, but has been strongly focused on German, Swiss and Austrian markets, especially in industrial-process and data center applications.
AHRI Staff Visit Smardt
AHRI staff members Aniruddh Roy and Rupal Choksi visited Smardt during a trip to Dorval, Quebec on June 30.
Smardt provided a brief overview of Smardt Chiller Group’s air-cooled and water-cooled chillers product line and offered a tour of the manufacturing facility. AHRI staff discussed numerous certification topics as well as methods for improving the integrity of the certification programs.
