Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technicians.


  • Servicing field equipment
  • Evaluating equipment performance
  • Support external service providers by phone and email
  • Report on equipment start up and deficiencies
  • Work with most internal departments to ensure parts, equipment and service work are organized and completed properly


  • Technical customer service experience
  • HVAC Trade studies or community college or cegep
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and conversational French, Spanish is an asset
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
  • An ability to work with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic components, or with PLCs, the more of these skills you possess the better
  • Excellent computer skills


Sales Support Engineer

Job Summary:

  • Support Regional Sales Managers, Sales Application Engineers, engineering and other departments as required.
  • Provide timely and accurate response to proposals, unit selections and customer requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze selection software and report bugs and fixes to software engineer.
  • Review customer requests and develop equipment proposals to meet customers' needs.
  • Review and prepare purchase orders, submittals, and rep commissions.
  • Provide customer with proper chiller selections to best meet their application and minimize product cost.
  • Ensure products meet ASME, LEED, ASHRAE, UL/ETL & other customer requirements.
  • Analyze Smardt product pricing vs. competitive products in the market place.
  • Track proposal activity from external sales and submit weekly status reports.

*Please note that this is an internal role that would not require any travel.



  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent computer and program skills including MS Office, and CAD.
  • Detail oriented, accurate, and responsive.
  • Able to manage complex technical projects.
  • Fluent in English & French. (Spanish would be an asset)

Education / Experience

  • Engineering degree or Technical Certification required.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC products, customers, competitors and market would be an asset.


Group Financial Controller

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for consolidated monthly forecast cash flows over a period of 13 weeks and weekly updates.
  • Prepare weekly bank reports, and answer any requests from the bank and communication/ follow up with offshore business units (Germany, Australia, China, Singapore, US) when it’s necessary.
  • Participate in annual consolidated budgets, including P&L, BS and Cash flows.
  • Monthly consolidation and executive reporting.
  • Group Inter-company analysis on a monthly basis, include diagnostic communication with the business units.
  • Assist with budget analysis and with financing projects.
  • Authorize and follow up on charge backs.
  • Responsible for consolidating monthly Group P&L and Balance Sheet Statements.
  • Develop, streamline and automate monthly financial forecasting.
  • Assist CFO in data and strategy for tax, FX and financing.
  • Become a NAV subject matter expert on all levels.
  • Assist with R&D files and provide support and documents for Government audits.
  • Assist with sales taxes and corporate taxes and government audits.
  • Month end closing assistance, including journal entries, various GL analyses.
  • Assist on the annual audit, including various analyses.
  • Assist with commercial insurance requests when they occur.
  • Other related analyses and reporting within the accounting/finance department.

Requirements/Skills :

  • Experience with multi currencies environment
  • Experience with multi sites –different countries
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong capacity to work under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Detail oriented, accurate, and extremely responsive.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluency in French, Spanish, German or Chinese is a major asset.
  • Current passport.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, CPA qualification an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • International experience an asset.
